
About Susan Burton
Susan Burton has dedicated more than 30 years to the financial services industry where she developed particular expertise with independent and regional broker dealers and the asset management sectors. As a leading industry coach and mentor to field sales teams and national account teams, Susan has found verifiable success in developing strategic planning tactics, facilitating project management and operational strategies – in fact, Susan’s wholesaler training strategies and programs have been quantifiably proven to increase sales and market share.
Before Susan Burton Consulting, LLC., Susan was a registered representative who successfully launched and operated eight FINRA/SEC-registered independent Broker-Dealers and one self-clearing firm. Susan also gained experience on the asset management side at OppenheimerFunds, Inc. and AllianceBernstein Inc. At both firms Susan was responsible for marketing and business development strategies for mutual funds, SMAs, and annuity sub-account businesses within the independent and bank Broker-Dealer channels; negotiating all financial marketing arrangements; and training internal and external wholesale teams. At AllianceBernstein, Inc., along with responsibilities for the independent and bank Broker-Dealer channel, she also developed and executed business tactics to promote mutual funds, SMAs and variable annuity sub-account business in the RIA and offshore channels.
Today at Susan Burton Consulting, LLC., Susan helps train external and internal wholesale teams to advocate solid work relationships, make informed and sound decisions, and create efficiencies and increase productivity.
Susan holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and Certified Fund Specialist® designations, along with Series 7, 24, 4, 53, and 63 securities licenses. Most recently, Susan was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve as a commission member on the Finance Commission of Texas – an appointment valid until February 1, 2016.
